Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

What about COVID restrictions, documentation and masks?

At the moment, no documentation nor masks are required for entry to the Vatican Museums. We are keeping up to date with the latest information. If you have a booking with us, we will let you know if anything changes. Please note that the Vatican Museums strongly recommend the use of masks due to crowds inside.

Why should I pick GetVaticanTickets?

GetVaticanTickets is powered by EcoArt, a local Roman tour operator who has been around for more than a decade. At EcoArt you are not a number to us. When you book with us we understand you are entrusting our company with an enormous responsibility — a fundamental part of your dream vacation to Italy. We won’t let you down!

Where is your office? Where do I meet you?

We have an administrative office located just steps from the Vatican Museums entrance at Via Tunisi 13, but there is no need to stop by. We will come directly to you on the steps at Via Tunisi, at the corner with Via Sebastiano Veniero on the date and time of your tour. Be on the look out for the bright green EcoArt logo! Please note that our meeting point is an outdoor location and not an office. Hint: If arriving by taxi, please specify Via Tunisi 4 as your arrival location.

Do you offer private tours?

Yes we do! This is an excellent option for those who want a tailored experience at the Vatican where you decide how to spend your time. Just select a private tour option from the tour list and send us your special requests. Can’t find a departure time that suits you? Request a custom departure time by contacting us. Need help deciding the perfect itinerary? We can help with that, too!

What happens if I need to change or cancel my booking? Copy

We understand that now, more than ever — flexibility is needed when making vacation plans. That is why we guarantee free cancellations with 0 penalty up until 24 hours before your tour departure. Need to make a change? We also allow unlimited free changes up to 24 hours before departure (just make sure the date & time you want is available!). Still, we get that the unexpected can happen. We always do our best to accomodate our guests, up to the last minute.

Is St. Peter’s Basilica included?

St. Peter’s Basilica is an entirely separate venue from the Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel, with a separate access which is free but requires you to queue for a security check. Often, the Vatican Museums opens a Skip the Line access door directly from the Sistine Chapel to St. Peter’s Basilica. This access is available exclusively for guided tours. When this access is available, it is automatically included in your guided tour for no extra cost. Please note that only access will be provided, not a guided tour inside the Basilica. Entrance tickets to the Vatican Museums with no guide cannot take advantage of this access. Night tours of the Vatican do not include this access, as the Basilica is closed at night.

What happens if I am late or can’t make it?

Rest assured that we do everything within our power to accomodate late arrivals. That said, entry to the Vatican Museums is on a timed basis, and sometimes it is out of our hands. When that happens, we try to make re-booking for an alternative time as easy as possible. If you are going to miss your departure time, get in touch with us as soon as you know so we can maximize your options.

How do I redeem my tickets?

All you need to do is show up at our meeting point, 15 minutes before the date and departure time you selected at the time of purchase. This information is all specified on your booking confirmation voucher. There is no need to visit us ahead of time, nor to exchange your voucher. When you reach our meeting point, our friendly staff will check you in, personally escort you inside the Vatican Museums, skipping the line, and hand you your physical ticket. Is it not possible to collect your physical ticket in advance.
